About Us

The Philippines has been, for many years, the top provider of seafarers and since 2010 ranks 4th in the world in ship-building based on gross tonnage.  With the manpower, facilities and policies to support a robust maritime and waterfront industry, we can say that the Philippines is truly a land of great opportunity. We therefore believe that it is time for all the players and stakeholders to meet with investors, policy makers and international developers to share insights and ideas as well as exchange information on matters and issues of mutual interest.

In light of this, the Philippine Department of Transportation (DOTr), in partnership with The Maritime League and in cooperation with the Committee on Transportation of the House of Representatives of the Philippines, Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA), Philippine Ports Authority (PPA), Cebu Ports Authority (CPA), Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), Department of National Defense (DND), Philippine Navy (PN), Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), Environmental Management Bureau (EMB), National Mapping and Resource Information Authority (NAMRIA), Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), Department of Tourism (DOT), Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), and the UP Institute for Maritime Affairs and the Law of the Sea (UP-IMLOS) has organized the Maritime Expo 2023, which is slated for September 6-8, 2023, at the SMX Convention Center Manila.

Maritime Expo 2023 aims to provide a venue for government regulators and maritime stakeholders to share information and exchange ideas for the benefit of the maritime industry. It will also provide an opportunity for owners and operators in the various sectors of the maritime industry to meet with equipment suppliers and service providers, discuss economic and safety concerns, and provide a venue to showcase for the maritime industry products and services for local and international participants and stakeholders.
